1Planned Daytime Support
Support is focused around the times of day when young people need it most, such as mornings, after school and early evenings, so they are not left to manage key parts of the day entirely on their own.
- Help to start the day with structure
- Support around meals and daily tasks
- Staff available during agreed hours
- Clear plans for out‑of‑hours contact
2Structured Daytime Activities
We use daytime sessions to build skills, confidence and positive use of time in and around the home and community, so young people can practice doing more for themselves with support close by.
- Practical sessions like cooking and shopping
- Support to attend groups or activities
- Time for key work and goal planning
- Practice skills in real situations
3Daily Living And Independence Skills
Young people are encouraged to take more responsibility for their own routines while still having guidance and backup, so they can try things out, make mistakes safely and learn from experience.
- Planning and preparing simple meals
- Managing laundry and organisation
- Using transport safely and confidently
- Practising problem solving skills
4Safeguarding And Risk Awareness
Even without overnight staff, safeguarding remains central to how we work, with clear plans in place so young people know how to stay safe and who to contact if they are worried or need help.
- Clear daytime risk and safety plans
- Agreed contact for out‑of‑hours help
- Regular updates to professionals
- Support to recognise unsafe situations
